FSU football: 3 benefits of not making a bowl game after disastrous season

The standard at FSU football is competing for conference and national championships. The disastrous 2024 season, or any season where FSU isn't in the mix among the top teams, is unacceptable. It's a new day and age with the transfer portal and the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Don't get me wrong, making a bowl game still has many positives. It's an opportunity for players to experience something different, get some swag, and continue developing through the bowl practices.

However, this year is a bit different for FSU. Let's say FSU grinding out some wins late in the season to go 6-6 and make a bowl game. True, that's better than finishing 2-10 and dead last in the ACC. However, the changes that needed to take place may not have happened in such a drastic fashion as how they eventually played out.

It sucks to be the butt of 2-10 jokes, but it has the potential to make FSU football extraordinarily better quicker than otherwise. FSU not making a bowl could be a blessing in disguise. Here are three huge benefits to not making a bowl in 2024.
