FSU flips 2025 blue-chip EDGE Tylon Lee from Ole Miss to close Early Signing Period
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football had a monster close to the 2025 Early Signing Period after a disastrous 2-10 season. The Noles began the Early Signing Period on Wednesday with the No. 38 recruiting class nationally.
FSU kept all of their commits except one and flipped several others to move to No. 25 nationally going into Friday. However, Mike Norvell and the new coaching staff at FSU were still on the recruiting trail, looking to add more talent.
Enter, Ole Miss commit Tylon Lee. Lee officially visited the Noles for the Florida game last weekend and delayed signing until Friday, when he flipped to the Noles.
Lee had been committed to Gus Malzahn and UCF until flipping to Ole Miss in late October. FSU hiring Malzahn last week likely didn't hurt things. Lee took official visits to Miami, Arkansas, and Kansas this summer.
He ranks as the No. 278 player nationally, the No. 29 defensive lineman, and the No. 41 player in the Sunshine State. He is 6'4" and 245 pounds, hailing from Pace High School in Milton, Florida.
He is the 20th player in the 2025 recruiting class and the third EDGE signee. The coaching staff will now wait on the likes of four-star LaJesse Harrold.
In the end, FSU signed 11 blue-chip high school players, two top JUCO players, and one of the top kickers. JUCO players and kickers rarely receive blue-chip status no matter where they rank. However, that's more like a 65 percent blue-chip ratio after going 2-10. That's not too shabby!
