Florida State opened as the betting favorite over the NC State Wolfpack when odds were released on Sunday. FSU pulled away from the Virginia Tech Hokies in the second half to win by 20. The same Virginia Tech team that beat NC State earlier this season.

NC State got blasted by the Miami Hurricanes on the road. Both teams enter the game with a 5-5 record and have only two ACC wins.

FSU opened as -4.5 betting favorites, and the over-under points total expects a relatively high-scoring game. However, FSU fans are not buying it because the Noles have struggled at Carter-Finley Stadium historically, especially on Thursday or Friday nights.

One could say this FSU team has nothing to do with those teams in the past, which is something I subscribe to. However, when I look at this matchup, a lot of it favors the Noles IF they could get their act together, but that’s been a challenge for the past two seasons.

FSU has the better offense and defense, but the Noles can’t seem to consistently play good situational football. The NC State offense has a style that doesn’t match up well with FSU’s spot dropping zone and inability to create consistent pressure in the passing game. The running backs run with good physicality, and the NC State QB can create issues with his legs when he needs to extend plays.

We broke down the five defensive keys for FSU to win the game earlier on Wednesday. However, this game is on the offense. That unit hasn’t played well on the road all year, and the NC State defense is awful. FSU quarterback Thomas Castellanos looked closer to 100 percent healthy in the second half against Virginia Tech.

Over 78 percent of the money is on the Noles to cover the spread, and 58 percent of the overall bets are on FSU. Nevertheless, FSU fans won't believe FSU will win in Raleigh until they actually do it.
