FSU could add four commitments and move into top 10 recruiting classes for 2026

Long way to go but working is getting done.

Florida State football recruiting has been a sore spot for a segment of FSU fans over the past few years. Some blame last year's 2-10 season on recruiting, but that's not the case. FSU had more talent on its roster than 75 percent of the teams on its schedule. However, it needs to improve if they want to compete for championships again.

FSU's composite ranking for its 2026 class is No. 32 with 11 commits.

As bad as some think recruiting is, it's far from it. FSU coaches could realistically add four commitments in the next few weeks and jump into the top 10 recruiting classes nationally.

  • Four-star DL Tico Crittendon
  • Five-star CB Chauncey Kennon
  • Four-star QB Jaden O'Neal
  • Three-star Noah LaVallee

There are several other guys FSU is in the mix for as well. if these four guys committed to FSU tomorrow, they'd have the No. 9 recruiting class nationally in the composite rankings.

FSU has already received crystal ball predictions for three of the four (Crittendon, Kennon, and LaVallee). O'Neal started his official visit with FSU on Sunday, and the Oklahoma commit is the lone blue-chip quarterback target for the 2026 recruiting cycle.

He visited FSU unofficially a few weeks ago and liked it enough to schedule the official visit. Oklahoma hired a new offensive coordinator after he committed and has flirted with another four-star quarterback, Bowe Bentley(who also visited FSU before narrowing his list to Oklahoma and LSU).

A cracked door isn't hard to open and it's cracked because you usually don't see committed quarterbacks taking official visits to other places. I can see FSU turning up the heat enough to get O'Neal to flip. He'd be the only quarterback in the class and could start helping FSU build its class around him.

He would be the second Oklahoma quarterback in as many years to flip to FSU. I'm keeping it one hundred though. FSU will have to show a much-improved product on the field to keep any quality recruits they land this summer.

However, FSU landing all or most of these four players would signal a huge momentum shift for the program. We'll see how it plays out, but the staff is clearly working behind the scenes.
