About time some of the recruiting services caught up.

FSU recruiting has slowed since going on a heater last month with 10+ commitments to its 2026 recruiting class. One of those commitments was cornerback Chauncey Kennon, a four-star commitment at the time. However, recruiting services update their rankings from time to time, with players improving their ranking or moving down in the rankings.

Ironically, FSU commits usually get downgraded when recruiting ranking updates take place, but the Noles are on the flip side with this one.

Kennon received his coveted composite five-star ranking in the latest recruiting updates. He is the No. 27 player overall and No. 3 cornerback nationally, and the No. 2 player in the Sunshine State.

We already called Kennon a five-star commit when he pledged to the Noles, because he's an elite talent, and some recruiting services don't have the manpower to maintain accuracy, or they don't have regular ranking updates.

However, it's good to see an FSU commit gain the recognition he deserves. If he signs with FSU in December(I think the chances are high since he got an FSU tattoo on his body), he'll be the first composite five-star signed since Hykeem Williams in the 2023 recruiting class.

Kennon has put on his recruiting hat for the Noles after committing, and flashing his composite five-star ranking might hold a little more weight now.

It will be only the second composite five-star Mike Norvell has signed since arriving in December 2019. FSU has 21 commits in its 2026 recruiting class, with only a handful of spots remaining. They have needs remaining on the offensive line, defensive end position, and linebacker. The Noles could receive some great news this weekend as four-star offensive lineman Da'Ron Parks will announce his commitment. A commitment from him would move FSU to No. 13 overall nationally.
