FSU football coaches have been busy with fall camp and preparing the team for the upcoming season opener against Alabama. However, that doesn't mean they haven't been working behind the scenes to fill the remaining holes in the 2026 recruiting class.

FSU has a major need at the defensive end position and doesn't have any commits in that spot currently.

The coaching staff didn't cast a wide net in this recruiting cycle, but failed to capture a commitment, which forced them to re-evaluate their recruiting board.

Ironically, the group they have brought into focus now might be better than some of the players they originally sought. One of those players is three-star Gustaf Henriks Ras. The Swedish player burst on the recruiting scene over the past couple of months, earning offers from Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, FSU, Texas A&M, and others.

He has excellent measurables at 6'4" and would likely be a four-star recruit if he had played high school football in America.

FSU coaches offered him on July 19th, and Ras confirmed with Chopchat that he plans to take an official visit to FSU for the Miami game on October 4th.

FSU will have a ton of big-time players at that game and the season opener against Alabama. Ras only has one other official visit set to Boise State in late September.

I like him as a prospect much better than some of the guys FSU pursued late in the process. It's possible they could get a steal here if they're able to gain a commitment. I'll be interested to see if he schedules any other official visits. If not, FSU shouldn't have any problems beating Boise State if they really want him as a player.
