FSU basketball (13-8, 4-6 ACC) will travel to Boston College (9-11, 1-8 ACC) Saturday afternoon looking to end a three-game losing streak.
The Noles will be small betting favorites, according to FanDuel. The point spread is -5.5, and the over/under points total is 147.5.
Those odds imply a 77-71 win for FSU. However, that might be a risky proposition, considering how they looked against a sub .500 Virginia Tech team earlier this week. FSU only scored 15 first-half points and was down 20 points at halftime before losing by 10.
Boston College's lone ACC win is against the Miami Hurricanes and they have lost six consecutive games since. They are not a good offensive team, only averaging 70.8 points per game while shooting 44 percent overall. They have three guys averaging double figures and shooting 35 percent as a team from the three-point line.
Three-point shooting defense has been abysmal for FSU lately, and it seems like random teams are playing NBA Jam with the "He's on Fire" chant going.
FSU likely has no shot to make the NCAA Tournament unless they somehow win the ACC Tournament in March. Has the team given up on the year?
The first half against Virginia Tech seemed that way, but they put up a better effort in the second half. However, some of that could have been Virginia Tech playing lax with a huge lead.
FSU has been awful on the road at only 1-5, with each loss by 7+ points. FSU has to play better offensively while using its defense to create turnovers that result in points. That's their bread and butter, but they have only forced 35 turnovers in the last three games. That's only an 11.6 per-game average, and they need that number to be at 15+.
The game will start at 2 p.m. and will air on the ACC Network.
