Florida State basketball improved to 2-0 with its second blowout win this week, topping 100 points for the second game. FSU beat Alabama State 101-64 Friday night and never trailed in the game.

FSU led 46-30 at halftime, but head coach Luke Loucks was dissatisfied with the first-half performance. The team improved in the second half.

Lajae Jones led FSU scoring with 20 points, and Kobe MaGee had 16. Robert McCray and Chauncey Wiggins chipped in with 12 points each. The Noles continue to shoot a lot of three pointers, making 18 of 47. The 47 three-point attempts is a new FSU and ACC record, which equated to an amazing 63.5 percent of their shots.

They shot 47 percent overall and made 13 of 14 free throws. However, they turned the ball over 15 times, which was one of the negatives Luke Loucks was unhappy about. Luckily, Alabama State only scored 14 points off of those.

Defensively, FSU held Alabama State to 35.4 percent shooting overall and forced 17 turnovers, scoring 31 points off of those.

That's a ton of turnovers forced in the two games, albeit against inferior competition. As we mentioned in the season opener, this team will be fun to watch. They shoot a ton of three-pointers, and it's probably going to cost them in games where they don't shoot it well. However, if they make their free throws and continue to force turnovers on defense, they'll make some noise and surprise some teams this season.

The competition will increase dramatically next game when they travel to face the rival Florida Gators, who ranked No. 3 in the preseason.
