Florida State basketball (10-12, 3-6 ACC) is looking for its third consecutive ACC win when it goes on the road to face a reeling Notre Dame basketball (11-12, 2-8 ACC) team. The Fighting Irish have lost three in a row and eight of their last nine in ACC play.

They’ll enter the game as -2.5 betting favorites, with an over/under points total of 153.5. Those odds imply a 78-75 Notre Dame win.

It’s another game where FSU has the advantage from a statistical standpoint in nearly every category except rebounding and three-point shooting. Interestingly enough, FSU is the better offensive rebounding team between the two. Notre Dame shoots it at a 35.4 percent clip from the three-point line (42 percent of their shots are three-pointers), though they only shoot it 69 percent from the free-throw line.

It would be great for FSU to get another win against an opponent missing its best player

They don’t turn it over much, averaging 11.5 turnovers per game. The key to this game will be like the last two. FSU needs to manage its three-point attempts and not go crazy with too many attempts. They need to play good defense, defend the three-point line, and take the ball to the rack.

If they get fouled, make at least 70 percent of their free throws, and crash the offensive boards. It looks like Notre Dame’s leading scorer, Markus Burton, will remain out after missing several games.

This is a game that FSU should win if they don’t beat themselves. They have done a good job of building solid first-half leads in the past few games. They need to do the same on the road and finish the second half strong to get out of South Bend with a win.

The game will air on The CW Network at 4 p.m. ET.
