Florida State basketball (15-14, 8-8 ACC) is one of the hottest teams in college basketball and has been playing at a level that matches most of the better teams nationally over the past five games. They’ve 4-1 over their last five and 7-3 over their last 10.
They will travel to face the Pittsburgh Panthers on late Tuesday night as a slight -2.5 point betting favorite. The Panthers upset the California Bears in their last outing, which helped FSU gain the opportunity to become the No. 8 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament if they win their final two games.

The late-season momentum has been felt by the fan base and re-energized the program, and landing four-star guard Martay Barnes over Auburn last week helped Luke Loucks secure a top-10 recruiting class (No. 8) in his first season.
This game against Pittsburgh is one they should win, and one they need to win to continue the momentum established. Most people consider FSU to be playing at a high level, and losing to a Pittsburgh team that’s (11-18, 4-12 ACC) wouldn’t be a good look. A win would guarantee FSU a winning season in Loucks’s first year, and the chance to finish above .500 in ACC play after starting 0-5.
FSU wins nearly every statistical category in this matchup except three-point shooting. Pitt shoots nearly 43 percent of their shots from the three-point line and makes nearly 34 percent of them.
If FSU can contest their three-point shots and keep that that percentage lower than their season average and do what they've been doing over the past few games? It should be another win for the Noles. The game will begin at 9 p.m and will air on The ACC Network.
