FSU basketball (12-5, 3-3 ACC) beat Pittsburgh in a mild upset a few nights ago for its best win of the season. The Noles will look to keep that momentum going when they host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (8-10, 2-5 ACC) Saturday at noon.

FSU had a reputation for beating bad teams and losing against teams with a chance to make the NCAA Tournament. They bucked that trend against Pittsburgh with a strong defensive performance, and Georgia Tech would fall into the category of teams FSU has feasted on this season.

The Yellow Jackets have lost three straight to start 2025 and will be +8.5 point underdogs against the Noles, according to FanDuel. The over/under total is 147.5, which implies a 78-69 win for FSU.

Both teams played Syracuse this month, and FSU blew the Orange out while Georgia Tech lost by seven points.

Georgia Tech doesn't shoot the ball well overall, but they have four guys who average double figures. A couple of their guys can shoot the three-point shot well. FSU must play their game, use their defense to create turnovers, and turn those into offensive points.

FSU has shot it decently from the three-point line lately, but they'll need to avoid excessive turnovers and rebound well. The latter is where Georgia Tech grabs 28 percent of their boards on the offensive end.

It's a game FSU must win if they want to have any shot at making the NCAA Tournament. The ACC isn't anywhere near as good or deep as a few years ago, and FSU doesn't have many opportunities to get good wins. They can't afford any bad loss. The game will start at noon ET and will air on ESPNU.
