Whether there’s a season or no season, the Florida State Women’s Basketball Program continues to add to their future. Their willingness to travel across the country and recruit future stars is a reason why they remain one of three top contending programs in the NCAA. The Noles struck again this summer by signing one of the most lethal scorers from the Class of 2026.

That young woman’s name is Asia Lee. For those who have never heard of her, I can gladly give you guys a brief introduction. Lee is a four-star combo guard from Olathe North High School in Kansas while also playing for the Della Lamb of the Adidas 3SSB Circut. According to 24/7 Sports, she ranks 71st in the Class of 2026 as well as the 12th best shooting guard as well.

The rankings don’t necessarily tell Lee’s entire story. Its understandable considering the Class of 2026 is highly talented. However, the reason why Florida State made an offer to Lee is because of potential. Where she is now is not where she will be by the end of their senior year. Again, Lee is a high level combo guard who has tremendous size and versatility offensively. During her High School career, she’s been a standout talent that has continued to show growth throughout her journey.

Offensively is where Lee is lethal. She's dangerous whether she plays with the ball in her hands or without as she always demands attention from opposing teams defenses. As a shot creator, Lee can score in different ways. She’s exceptional when it comes to seeking high percentage shots. Instead of settling for a three-pointer, Lee is great at navigating her way to the rim. If she gets a high-ball screen from a teammate, it grants her the opportunity to attack the driving lane and score inside.

Another way is how Lee can score in the mid-range. If attacking the rim is not an option, she has the ability to score off one or two dribbles and elevate over defenders. There’s two things that make Lee a dangerous threat for defenders on the offensive end. One is her length at 5’10 while the other is her patience when looking for her shot. When she’s not rushed into a shot she can find quality ones, which is beneficial to her and her team.

While Asia Lee demands attention from the defense, it also allows her teammates open opportunities as well. As the best player on a team, placing trust in your teammates is important. Relying on them to make open shots is another key for success. Lee has shown growth as a decision maker in High School. When help defense steps in, she reads the floor tremendously and understands where to find her teammate. Whether it’s an open shot on the perimeter or a backdoor cut, Lee shows her vision by finding open players with her playmaking skills.

During Asia Lee’s recruitment process, she stayed patient in her decision. She was granted offers from great programs like West Virginia, Houston, Georgia Tech, and a few others. Luckily, Lee’s visit to Tallahassee was a special one. After taking time to bond with the coaching staff and future teammates, Lee announced her commitment to Florida State on August 31 via X.

“I felt like from a basketball standpoint I fit perfectly,” Lee stated following her commitment. “With my skillset, I feel like I could thrive in that system,”. Everyone eats in Florida State’s offense. It’s fast paced and unselfish as they look to find quality shots before opposing teams get set up in their halfcourt defense. Lee’s size and skill fits this system as she can grow under Florida State. The program has big goals of helping her expand her game as one of the more complete players in college basketball.

Although Asia Lee made her early commitment, Seminole fans have to wait another season before they get to witness her in Garnet and Gold. However, Lee will use her senior season as a way to grow as more of a complete player. The goal is to be fully prepared for the college level. As Lee travels through her journey of her last season in high school, she’ll be fully prepared for what it takes to succeed at Florida State.
