FSU FOOTBALL NOT THE STANDARD IN 2024

Florida State football did not perform well during the 2024 season, where they had a 2-10 record. This was not the standard of the program that is used to contend for conference and national championships.

Head football coach Mike Norvell had to look himself in the mirror and understand that what transpired last season was not something that needs to happen again. As a result, Norvell acquired pieces on the roster via recruiting ranks and the transfer portal as well as firing some of the previous staff with adding new ones.

NEW EA SPORTS COLLEGE FOOTBALL 26 VIDEO GAME

EA SPORTS College Football announced that its 2026 version of the video game is set to come out on July 10th. It was a huge deal that the college football video game series returned to the masses after NCAA Football 14 was the last game that the population got.

I know that this year's video game had flaws, but the developers are making positive strides to ensure that it is the best possible product. I know that the Seminoles had DJ Uiagalelei at quarterback, with him throwing to wide receivers such as Malik Benson and Jalen Brown (what a time to be alive).

However, Florida State now has former UCF and Boston College quarterback transfer Thomas Castellanos to throw to playmakers such as USC's Duce Robinson and Tennessee's Squirrel White. It is amazing to see the difference that a year makes.

GUS MALZAHN IS NO-NONSENSE

I talked previously about the College Football 26 video game and the improvements. They decided to make a change, where they added coaches to the game. While I know this isn't BuckeyeChat, they released a trailer that featured Ohio State head football coach Ryan Day.

I know that Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell is in "hot water" with the fan base after the two-win season in 2024. However, he did make necessary changes to the coaching staff. One of the more noteworthy additions was the offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, considering that the Seminoles' offense was horrific last year.

Florida State's social media account talked about the assistant coaches who were going to be included in the College Football 26 video game.

It is cool that head football coach Mike Norvell and defensive coordinator Tony White are included in the video game. To be honest, Coach White was one of the more underrated staff members who were added this offseason and could have a chance to make the Seminoles have a top-30 defense in 2025.

Gus Malzahn not being included in the video game does not surprise me. He is a no-nonsense coach who doesn't seem like he wants to be part of something away from the game of football. He was previously a head football coach at UCF and had to be involved in all aspects of the Knights.

He is now at Florida State to handle the duties of the offensive side of the football, where Malzahn is classified as an innovative offensive mind, especially during his time with the Auburn Tigers.
