Florida State's 2025 recruiting class was quite impressive given the fact that the Seminoles finished with a 2-10 record last season. Head football coach Mike Norvell seems to have found a renewed sense of energy with the various coach firings.

The recruiting efforts took a step forward even with the new hires in a short amount of time. The Florida State offense was one of the worst units in all of college football. It was something that Norvell wanted to improve drastically. He told the media that the struggles would be a quick fix.

The Seminoles prioritized offensive playmakers in the recruiting class with Ousmane Kromah, Jayvan Boggs, Tre'Shaun Gesley, Jordan Scott, Teriq Mallory, and Chase Loftin.

Florida State knew that it wanted to add some wide receivers that could be productive in the offense, with coordinator Gus Malzahn coming on board. Malzahn came from the UCF Knights, so it was obvious that some of the commitments from that program would consider joining him at Florida State.

One of the pieces that decided to make the flip was four-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs from Cocoa, Florida. Boggs was Mr. Florida 2A Player of the Year with 93 receptions for 1,493 yards and 23 touchdowns last year. He has taken it to the next level in 2024 when he accumulated 76 receptions for 1,642 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Cocoa High School took on undefeated Cardinal Mooney in the playoffs.

I guess you get that different type of mentality when you sign with Florida State. Boggs is having himself a field day versus a Cardinal Mooney team that individuals thought was very good. I believe that the four-star prospect could be a something piece for the Seminoles even as a true freshman. The coaching staff just needs to be sure that the offensive line can block for the quarterback.
