FSU FOOTBALL SEASON OPENER
Florida State football will be playing the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST on ABC. It seems like a long time away from kickoff, but we are only four Saturdays away from the season opener.
The fan base wants to get the bad taste out of their mouth with the 2-10 record from last season. Head football coach Mike Norvell has been doubted by some of the individuals in the college football landscape, such as ESPN's Paul Finebaum and Greg McElroy.
In honor of it being four Saturdays away from Florida State football's season opener versus Alabama, I wanted to highlight senior wide receiver Squirrel White and redshirt freshman defensive back Charles Lester III. They both wear the No. 4 jersey on the Seminoles' roster.
WR SQUIRREL WHITE
One of the more concerning aspects of Florida State football's 2024 season was that the offense was horrendous, where they only mustered 15.2 points per game. The coaching staff added transfer wide receivers in Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown. It looks different this year as they acquired transfers Duce Robinson, Squirrel White, and Gavin Blackwell. White recorded 803 yards in 2023, but he suffered injuries in 2024. Can he stay healthy in 2025?
CB CHARLES LESTER III
The defensive back position group is loaded with young talent. However, it will be tasked with replacing pieces from last season, such as Azareye'h Thomas, Fentrell Cypress II, and Kevin Knowles II. Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has done a nice job constructing the room with significant skills. I believe that redshirt freshman Charles Lester III is one of the biggest wildcards in the room.
