Former FSU standout player who became a legend in one season in Tallahassee will leave one terrible NFL team and join another in 2026, according to Adam Schefter.
Former NFL first-round draft pick Jermaine Johnson will be traded from the NY Jets to the Tennessee Titans in March:
Trade: the New York Jets are sending DE Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for DT T'Vondre Sweat, per ESPN sources.

Johnson, who turned 27 years old in January, returned to action last season from an Achilles Tear injury that took away most of the 2024 season. The former Pro Bowler didn’t quite reach his Pro Bowl stats from the 2023 season, but had a respectable season, given he was coming off the injury.
He had 43 tackles, three sacks, five tackles for a loss, two passes defended, and six QB hits. Both teams went 3-14 last season and look to be shuffling pieces as they try to rebuild their organizations. Sweat is a former second round pick who'll turn 25 years old this year.
Johnson was one of the first high-profile additions for Mike Norvell from the transfer portal. He transferred from Georgia as a reserve and immediately made an impact for FSU in the 2021 season. He became an All-ACC First Team player, First-Team All-American and won the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award before heading to the NFL as a first-round draft pick.
Johnson signed a fifth year extension with the Jets, guaranteeing him $13.4 million for the 2026 season. He will become an unrestricted free agent (UFA) in 2027, so this 2026 season will determine how big or small his second NFL contract will be. The second NFL contract is where most NFL players make bank.
