Florida State football's 2024 season has not gone the way that most individuals anticipated, but it is exciting to see all of the former Seminoles show out in the NFL.

Florida State is always known for its former players' success in the professional ranks. Former Seminole quarterback Jameis Winston had to step into action after the previous signal-caller (Deshaun Watson) suffered a season-ending injury.

The Cleveland Browns have been a laughing stock for the last 20 years. However, the franchise was thought to be one of the sleepers in the AFC after finishing with an 11-6 record in 2023. Winston was ready to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at home.

The former Seminole had to endure the heavy snow in Cleveland against a Pittsburgh team. Even with the weather conditions, Winston completed 18 of his 27 passes for 219 yards and one interception. He did have a rushing touchdown to give the Browns an 18-6 lead in the fourth quarter.

Winston certainly deserves to be considered as a starter after 2024. The Browns have plenty of decisions to make as Deshaun Watson makes a recovery from a serious Achilles injury. The former Heisman Trophy has a combined 2-2 record as the starter.

I am not suggesting that he is a perfect product as a quarterback. However, he expands the offense's ability to be successful with his aggressive mindset and strong arm.

The signal-caller has had an up-and-down career as he was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has made a living for being aggressive, but it comes with the cost of turning the football over.

Obviously, I would take Winston on this current Seminoles' football team. I just hope that Coach Norvell can develop redshirt freshman Brock Glenn, true freshman Luke Kromenhoek, and true freshman Trever Jackson into respectable quarterbacks.
