Former FSU player Jalen Ramsey sounds off about the College Football Playoff
Florida State football fans are getting angry with how the College Football Playoff is going. I understand that the Seminoles are not involved with the "invitational" this year due to going 2-10 on the season. That is not the standard at Florida State, and I get that.
However, fans, and in this case former players are talking about what is happening between the SMU and Alabama discussion of who gets the final spot in the playoff.
The Crimson Tide benefit from sitting on the couch and not playing in that conference title game because they lost to mediocre Vanderbilt and Oklahoma teams. At the same time, SMU has to go toe-to-toe with Clemson, who has won the conference eight out of the last ten years.
It is a crazy sport we live in, and if the Crimson Tide decides to get in this year, teams will start to boycott playing in conference championship games.
Former Florida State and current Dolphins defensive back Jalen Ramsey spoke on social media and went a different direction and discussed Georgia's quarterback situation with Carson Beck getting hurt and the Bulldogs having to insert Gunnar Stockton in the game.
The Bulldogs scored a whopping 16 points, which was the same amount of points that Florida State had last year in the ACC Championship Game versus Louisville, who had a top-20 defensive unit.
I bet that ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit is salivating when he is discussing the grit and dedication of stepping into the game. The level of disrespect with Florida State has to stop in this sport. I am not thrilled with the way college football is going, where mid-tier SEC teams get royalty treatment because they play in a top-heavy conference.
Even though I know that Georgia is a good team and Beck will be back in time for the College Football Playoff, the double standards are crazy when Florida State would have made some noise in the tournament, too.
