Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell had a miserable 2024 campaign where they had a 2-10 record. This is not what most Seminole fans expected after having an undefeated regular season and winning the conference in 2023.

Florida State wants to wipe their memory from what transpired this year for good reason. Head football coach Mike Norvell is trying to turn the page by hiring new coaching staff members such as offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, defensive coordinator Tony White, defensive line coach Terrance Knighton, and safeties coach Evan Cooper.

Norvell is far from finished with the hires, too. Many individuals did not think the headman had it in him to fire coaches on his staff. Many thought that he was too loyal to them. However, he proved to the fan base that he could lay down the law if he had to.

Overall, Florida State has had to make some tough decisions within the coaching staff. However, things have to be done if he wants the Seminoles to remain the standard. While former offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham was not on the coaching staff in 2024, he was pivotal in quarterback Jordan Travis's development as a passer.

I have to give credit where it is due when Coach Dillingham led the Arizona State Sun Devils to a conference championship in his first season as the head coach. This was surprising given all of the talented teams in Big 12 such as Deion Sanders's Colorado squad.

The former Florida State assistant made massive waves in showing the country that they needed to take his Arizona State team seriously as they blew out Iowa State to reach the College Football Playoff.
