FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State football lost to Virginia on the road in double overtime by a score of 46-38. This defeat stung many of the Seminole faithful. Individuals thought that there was a good chance that Florida State would be hosting Miami with College GameDay in town.
This is not the case now, as the show will be heading to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama-Vanderbilt showdown. Don't get me wrong, the Crimson Tide beat Georgia last year and now proceeded to lose to Vanderbilt. The same thing happened in 2025 to Alabama, plus the Commodores are undefeated and in the Top 25.
Who needs College GameDay other than the eyes of the general population that it generates? The show lost its luster because it doesn't have Florida State legend Lee Corso. It helps that Corso is expected to come to Tallahassee regardless.
ACC KICKOFF
The Seminoles' fan base will still get a night game in Doak Campbell Stadium. It will be better than hosting Pittsburgh for a noon kickoff next week. That Tallahassee sun is brutal, so let's be thankful for the opportunity.
There is a whole new headline even with College GameDay not coming to Florida State for the Miami game. Former Seminoles' head football coach Jimbo Fisher and the ACC Huddle show will be in Tallahassee.
As we all know that Coach Fisher dominated Miami during his tenure here, and he won a ton of recruitments in South Florida away from the Hurricanes. This will be a cool setting to see him share his favorite memories from the rivalry week. I know that his time here at Florida State left on a sour note, but Fisher will be a notable legend in Tallahassee with winning a national championship.
