FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State is having a productive 2025 season, even with the loss to Virginia on Friday. They have wins over Alabama, East Texas A&M, and Kent State. The program is still night and day different from the 2024 version that went 2-10.
The Seminoles will look to put the loss in the rearview mirror as the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes come to town in what could be the College GameDay site (if they don't choose Alabama-Vanderbilt).
The roster has been productive this season, especially 6'6" wide receiver Duce Robinson. The Cavaliers didn't have an answer for him. However, they have lacked a true number two receiving threat in the offense, so it is a mixed bag to see each week who emerges.
VANDREVIUS JACOBS
One former Florida State player who is performing well this season is wide receiver Vandrevius Jacobs. He plays for the South Carolina Gamecocks. The program won by a score of 35-13 at home against Kentucky.
Jacobs was the leading receiver with five receptions for 108 yards. The next best pass catcher had one catch for 15 yards. This shows how important he is to the South Carolina offense. Jacobs built off the success of last week against Missouri, where he had seven catches for 128 yards and one touchdown. Jacobs has accumulated 18 receptions for 323 yards and two touchdowns on the year.
The former four-star prospect was supposed to be someone that the Seminoles relied on in Year 1. Most individuals recall media members hyping him up, saying that he would start as a true freshman, but unfortunately, that never happened.
They also had former five-star Hykeem Williams in that same recruiting cycle, who they were trying to develop, but he is now at Colorado. Williams only has seven catches for 59 yards through five games this year.
All in all, Jacobs finished with three catches for 60 yards and one touchdown. He didn't do much in Tallahassee, but we at Chop Chat are pulling for him to continue his success, especially with beating Clemson at the end of the year.
