Florida State football has a tremendous tradition, with Chief Osceola and Renegade planting the flaming spear at midfield of Doak Campbell Stadium.
I have been a season ticket holder for years, and it still makes me chill to see Chief Osceola and Renegade planting the spear. It never gets old. It is a spectacle that I suggest every individual to witness it in their lifetime.
Former Florida State defensive back Derwin James Jr. was interviewed with Good Morning Football to discuss the game-day experience at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Before arriving at Florida State as a player, James Jr. was committed to the university for a long period. He is what someone would call "Nole Blooded!" In today's landscape of college football recruiting, you don't see loyalty like it used to be back in the day.
I sound like an old geezer, but the high school prospects cannot stay committed to which toothbrush is used for maintaining their teeth. That is something that has heightened over the utilization of the transfer portal and the multiple periods where players are allowed to transfer.
I cannot help but laugh when the defensive back describes Renegade doing a "wheelie" before Osceola plants the spear. I have never heard someone describe it like that before. The fact that Good Morning Football was even comparing atmospheres between Florida State and Notre Dame is comical.
James Jr. was a dynamic weapon in the secondary for the Seminoles over his three-year career, where he recorded 186 tackles (16 for loss), 5.5 sacks, three interceptions, 15 pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.
If injuries didn't happen, Florida State football fans would have potentially put Derwin James Jr. as one of the best defensive backs in school history (he might already be in some eyes). He is balling out in the NFL for the Los Angeles Chargers, though, so all is good.
