FSU IS DBU

Thursday Night Football for the NFL is here, as the Minnesota Vikings take on the Los Angeles Chargers at 8:15 PM EST on Prime Video. This is a perfect time for Florida State football to sit back and watch the sport, since the Seminoles are on a bye week.

It will be even more beneficial to watch since former Florida State defensive back Derwin James Jr. is on the Los Angeles Chargers. They took a difficult loss to the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 38-24 on Sunday at the hands of quarterback Daniel Jones.

Jones had a rocky career with the New York Giants at times, but it seems he has resurrected his career with the Colts. The Chargers' defense probably doesn't feel the greatest after allowing running back Jonathan Taylor to score three touchdowns.

BOUNCE BACK GAME FOR DERWIN JAMES JR.

Defensive back Derwin James Jr. always set the tone for the Seminoles' defense when he was in enrolled in Tallahassee (when he was healthy). The former five-star prospect was the leading tackler for the Chargers in the Colts game.

During the 2025 season, he has recorded 49 tackles (five for loss), 1.5 sacks, and one interception. The Chargers have a 4-3 record and are tied for second in the AFC West division behind the 5-2 Denver Broncos.

They have done a great job with taking care of the teams in their division as they possess a 3-0 record, but they are 1-3 with the rest of the NFL. This has to change on Thursday night with a Minnesota Vikings team that is last in the NFC North and is hungry coming off a tough 28-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. They are also on a short week, heading to Los Angeles on the road.
