Florida State had a productive 2022 season, which saw the Seminoles have a fast turnaround after the 5-7 season in 2021. Some individuals sometimes forget that this period was successful for the program to ensure that fans thought that head football coach Mike Norvell could be productive at Florida State.

The 2022 squad finished with a 10-3 record with notable wins over LSU, Miami, Florida, and Oklahoma. There was pressure on Norvell to win since he was considered to be on the hot seat (I didn't think that).

Florida State expected quarterback Jordan Travis to take the next development step as a passer. Travis was thought to be just a scrambler that utilized his legs. However, he began to prove to fans and other individuals that he belonged as one of the upcoming stars in college football.

The West Palm Beach (FL) native had a big-bodied weapon in 6'7" Johnny Wilson that many discussed. However, one wide receiver who was severely underrated was Ontaria "Pokey" Wilson. Wilson had a solid senior season in 2022 where he recorded 30 receptions for 495 yards and four touchdowns.

Wilson set the tone in that opening contest versus LSU in New Orleans, where he snagged the one-handed catch for a touchdown. The wide receiver was known as "Mr. Reliable". While he isn't an All-ACC type of caliber player, I believe that he is something that every team needs on its roster.

Wilson was someone who did not get drafted. He had been at a couple of stops, including the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He balled out for the CFL, where he finished ninth in the league in receiving with 71 receptions for 1,026 yards with three touchdowns.

On Friday, he was released by the Blue Bombers so that he could be signed by the New York Jets. Wilson is now reunited with his former Florida State teammates Jordan Travis and defensive end Jermaine Johnson II.

This is a fantastic moment to see Wilson get back in the NFL where he was picked up by the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2023.
