Former Florida State transfer target picks Arkansas but fans shouldn't worry

This isn't much of a blow for Florida State football anymore.

Florida State football wants to build its offensive and defensive trenches in the portal, just like the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes have accomplished. Head football coach Mike Norvell and this administration want to get Florida State back to the top again, and this is how you do it.

Offensive line coach Herb Hand has been such a refreshing assistant who has developed a group that has struggled for the Seminoles for years (for the most part). Even though all of his starters were seniors, he is looking to reload nicely.

He has already grabbed offensive linemen in the portal, such as Purdue's Bradyn Joiner, Auburn's Xavier Chaplin, Troy's Paul Bowling, and Bowling Green's Nate Pabst. Plus, the Seminoles are hosting Stephen F. Austin offensive tackle Chimidia Nwaiwu on campus for a visit.

Offensive lineman target Bryant Williams was not given the green light to commit to Florida State

Even if Nwaiwu commits to Florida State, the Seminoles had Louisiana offensive tackle transfer target Bryant Williams on campus for a visit a couple of days ago, but the talented veteran did not commit to the university.

This was confusing because Williams had starting experience with the Ragin' Cajuns. Noles247's Zach Blostein also put in a crystal ball prediction in favor of Florida State for the offensive tackle, so a pledge looked likely.

However, just like defensive tackle transfer John Walker, Williams left campus without a commitment, and now he has pledged to Arkansas.

This one stings a bit since the Louisiana offensive tackle was one of the top offensive linemen in the transfer portal. However, Coach Hand looks to have gotten the guys that he wanted. Maybe Williams was asking for a price that was too expensive for Florida State to take on the commitment.

If the Seminoles get Nwaiwu in the near future, this will be a perfect opportunity to focus solely on getting defensive linemen and linebackers in the portal.
