Florida State football had a forgetful 2024 campaign where they finished with a 2-10 season. This was an unexpected year that many Seminole fans would like to erase their memory from what happened.
The Seminoles had an undefeated regular season and won a conference championship in 2023. The excitement was on full display as head football coach Mike Norvell thought he had the fastest squad since arriving in Tallahassee.
Many individuals thought that Florida State would have success on the football field in 2024. It was not all bad as the Seminoles had three players that participated in the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl with defensive back Azareye'h Thomas, defensive tackle Joshua Farmer, and kicker Ryan Fitzgerald.
The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine will take place in Indianapolis, as usual, this year from February 24th to March 3rd. NFL teams like to see how prospects perform in testing at the combine and pro day.
Azareye'h Thomas already blew the workouts at the Senior Bowl out of the water, where he had NFL scouts tell him not to make an appearance in the game to safeguard him from injury. Joshua Farmer is starting to gain more buzz, while Ryan Fitzgerald continues to be a consistent performer with his strong leg.
I thought that there could potentially be other performers on the Seminoles' official roster from a season ago, such as offensive linemen Maurice Smith and Darius Washington and defensive back Fentrell Cypress II.
However, I understand why these individuals did not get invited with their inconsistencies and the fact that the Seminoles underperformed horribly in 2024. I hope that the trend isn't continuing in 2025 because I believe that Florida State will have a memorable season.
