FSU FOOTBALL 2023 SEASON

There were individuals out there, such as ESPN's Paul Finebaum and Greg McElroy, that didn't think that the Seminoles could compete in the 2023 College Football Playoffs after star quarterback Jordan Travis went down with a gruesome injury.

However, little do they know, that Florida State defense was elite. They had several NFL-caliber players on the unit, such as Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Fabien Lovett, Tatum Bethune, Jarrian Jones, and Renardo Green.

I understand that we aren't living in the past, and the 2025 Seminoles are on a four-game losing streak as they welcome Wake Forest to town for their next matchup. Also, head football coach Mike Norvell lead that squad to many victories, but he is now fighting for his job.

TATUM BETHUNE

Even with the current situation, Florida State football fans can enjoy several former players that are currently in the NFL. The university is taking the league by storm. One name that has surprised fans this year has been linebacker Tatum Bethune.

The defender transferred in to Florida State from UCF. He had 108 total tackles during the 2021 season with the Knights, which attracted Seminole fans that wanted physical linebacker play.

Bethune had a productive two-year career with Florida State, where he had 84 tackles in 2022 and had 70 tackles in 2023. He was a player that always put his blood, sweat, and tears into every single play, which everyone appreciated. The only downside is that he wasn't the biggest linebacker at 6'1" and 225 pounds.

However, the San Francisco 49ers took a chance on him with the 251st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Bethune has been put into the starting lineup and hasn't disappointed. The linebacker had ten tackles two weeks ago against the Buccaneers, then followed that up with another ten tackle performance versus the Falcons.

The San Francisco 49ers will be taking on the Houston Texans at noon today.
