Florida State football had an impressive 2023 squad that involved the unforgettable College Football Playoff snub in favor of a one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide. Much of the discussion surrounded the idea that star quarterback Jordan Travis suffered the unfortunate injury.
Travis was an incredible player, but the fan base knows that there were more pieces to the squad than the talented signal-caller. However, the college football casuals of the committee didn't think so.
The main argument against that thought process was the point that several members of the roster declared for the NFL Draft. Fans have had a great time watching some of their favorite athletes in the professional ranks.
One of the fan favorites is defensive end Jared Verse, who plays for the Los Angeles Rams. Verse made the most of his opportunities in the Garnet and Gold during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
According to ESPN Stats and Information, Verse finished with 89 tackles (29.5 for loss) and18 sacks during the time frame with the Seminoles. He was selected with the 19th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams.
It was exciting to see from the Seminole fan base because Verse and his Florida State teammate, Braden Fiske, were both picked up by the Rams. Talk about the dynamic duo reunited again!
Verse has 49 tackles (nine for loss) and 6.5 sacks for the Rams this season (according to stats-reference.com). This has been a successful grab by the franchise, and he made an incredible play against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football, as he took a blocked field goal all the way back for a touchdown.

This gave the Rams a pulse in the game, as they approach the fourth quarter. It was surprising that the Falcons were winning anyway, but Verse did everything in his powers to keep Los Angeles in it.
