Former 4-star Florida State guard is back in the transfer portal again
With the way the NCAA transfer portal is set up, it's not uncommon for players to move around before their time in college comes to a close. However, we are seeing a growing trend of youngsters deciding to transfer multiple times. Such is the case for guard Jalen Warley.
Warley spent last season with the Virginia Cavaliers, posting 7.5 points per game for former head coach Tony Bennett, who has since retired. Bennett isn't the only one who won't be back with UVA this upcoming campaign, as Warley has told On3sports that he is transferring once again. The former Florida State signee will now be looking for a third program to call home:
Virginia guard Jalen Warley has entered the transfer portal
Coming out of Westtown High School in Pennsylvania, Warley was a touted playmaker. He picked up offers from Florida State, Clemson, Creighton, Louisville, Marquette, Miami, Oregon, Virginia and several other programs.
In the end, though, he decided to put the pen to paper with the Seminoles. He signed as a 4-star prospect, the No. 3 combo guard in the country and No. 2 player overall for his class from the state of Pennsylvania.
The hype was real for Warley, but things didn't work out for him in Tallahassee, as he spent three years with the program before taking his talents to Virginia. Warley was hoping to make a big-time difference for the Cavaliers, but similar to his time with FSU, things didn't go the way he wanted them to.
All of that has led to Tuesday's news. With his experience and ball distributing skills, there will surely be plenty of schools who will have strong interest in adding him to their roster. With the season here, though, Warley is going to want to try and make a new decision as soon as possible.
