Florida State men's basketball has taken the discussion to the next level after head coach Leonard Hamilton and the Seminoles decided to part ways at the end of the season.

Coach Hamilton is not a college basketball legend, but he transformed the men's team into a formidable unit, even against teams such as Duke and North Carolina.

Florida State women's basketball squad has been on a run and is considered a viable squad for the NCAA Tournament. Guard Ta'Niya Latson leads the Seminoles in scoring, while forward Makayla Timpson paves the way defensively.

Florida State is sitting with a 19-4 record (8-2 in conference) as they travel to Virginia, who has a 12-11 record (4-7 in conference). The Seminoles cannot afford to drop one game against the Cavaliers.

The Seminoles have their eyes on the prize, as four of their five contests have been double-digit wins. It helps to have the country's leading scorer in Latson, who is averaging 26.1 points per game.

Florida State plays Virginia tonight at 7 PM EST on ACC Extra. The Seminoles have to be extremely careful not to look ahead as they play No. 14 ranked North Carolina State at home on Sunday, February 9th at 2 PM EST on the CW Network.

I realize that Sunday will primarily feature the Super Bowl with teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. I know that will get a ton of attention. However, the Seminoles will need the fans' help as they face a Wolfpack that is 10-1 in conference.
