Florida State should consider giving this FBS opponent a look in 2027 for revenge

This would be a perfect replacement for Georgia.

Florida State and Georgia mutually agreed to cancel their home-and-home series with one another for 2027 and 2028. Given the landscape of college football nowadays, with the conference movements and nine-game conference slates, it was probably likely always going to be cancelled.

I expressed my dissatisfaction with a recent piece due to the fact that the Seminoles are reportedly discussing a neutral-site contest with the Bulldogs, which I think is a waste of time. Personally, I didn't like having the neutral site matchups with LSU in New Orleans and Orlando, even though it turned positive in Florida State's favor. It takes too much away from the glory of Doak Campbell Stadium.

Shield your eyes now because the Seminoles have six losing seasons in eight years. The fan base's morale is at an all-time low due to the fact that head coach Mike Norvell still hasn't maintained consistency within the program.

It is time to get revenge on Jacksonville State

While I think that Norvell think has what it takes to be successful like he was in 2022 and 2023, I can understand why the fan base feels pessimistic. There have been some embarrassing defeats in recent history. One that still holds firm is the Jacksonville State loss in Doak Campbell Stadium.

Former Jacksonville State quarterback Zerrick Cooper delivered a 59-yard passing touchdown to win the game for the Gamecocks. It was a bad look for Mike Norvell in his second season in Tallahassee, where they just came off a nail-biting loss against Notre Dame.

The Jacksonville State players celebrated in Doak Campbell Stadium, where they planted their flag with happiness. It was embarrassing to watch as a Seminole fan. There needs to be revenge for the occurrence. If Florida State and Georgia do not schedule in 2027, I would like to schedule Jacksonville State.

The Gamecocks play UAB and South Alabama as non-conference games in 2027. This would be the perfect idea for Florida State to get revenge, have a home game in Doak Campbell Stadium, and help local businesses.
