Florida State's offense was up-and-down during the 2025 season. The Seminoles had limitations with former quarterback Thomas Castellanos's throwing. However, the one bright side was the elite play of wide receiver Duce Robinson, who had over 1,000 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
Duce Robinson announced his decision to return to Florida State for the 2026 campaign, which was massive for the program. Head coach Mike Norvell is having to battle off the doubters after many project him to be on the hot seat.
The good news is that Coach Norvell will be able to control his destiny as he will be the Seminoles' play-caller in 2026. The offense looks to have redshirt senior transfer Ashton Daniels and redshirt freshman Kevin Sperry battling it out for the starting quarterback position.
Regardless of whether it is Daniels, Sperry, or even Malachi Marshall (enrolling this summer), they need other weapons to throw the football to other than Robinson.
Wide receiver Jayvan Boggs has had a great couple of days in spring practice
Coach Norvell spoke to the media on Saturday afternoon after the Seminoles had their first spring scrimmage. This is an opportunity for Florida State to get acclimated to a game-like environment. Something that was encouraging was that Norvell spoke about sophomore wide receiver Jayvan Boggs.
Norvell says Jayvan Boggs has had a “great week” of practice.

He was “dominant” on Thursday and had another good day today.
Says he’s going to be a really big part of what they do on offense.

With Boggs having a nice couple of spring practices, it is music to the ears of the Seminole faithful. The former four-star prospect was dominant during his time at Cocoa High School, where he was awarded "Mr. Florida" for his play.
Duce Robinson even alluded to Boggs being a special college football receiver, which was high praise from someone who had a phenomenal season last year. The Seminoles seem to be scratching the surface with the play of speedster Micahi Danzy, but if Florida State's offense can also include a productive Jayvan Boggs, watch out, ACC.
