If Ousmane Kromah is hyped, the rest of us are hyped. We've been hyped to see the five-star running back on the field from the moment he announced his commitment to FSU.
And now we're really hyped to see Kromah on the field in Week 1 against Alabama. Maybe almost as hyped as he is.
Kromah is clearly excited for the Alabama game

"It's Bama, I'm gonna be real, like this game is something I've dreamed about... by the time they come I'm going to know the whole offense."

"It's Bama, I'm going to be real...this game is something that I've dreamed about," Kromah said during his post-practice press conference Tuesday. "Realistically, I'm approaching it with a different mindset as far as [preparation]. By the time they come, I'm gonna know the whole offense. [Running backs coach David Johnson] is gonna to make sure that I do, so I can perform the best that I can."
Kromah is the right guy at the right time
It's hard to put such lofty expectations on a true freshman, but Kromah doesn't look like a normal rookie. He is already being mentioned in the same breath as recent FSU greats like Dalvin Cook and Cam Akers.
It's not unusual for a true freshman to come to Tallahassee with a lot of fanfare, but this is a different situation because it isn't Dalvin Cook coming into a loaded Seminoles team that just won a championship; it's a five-star prospect coming into a program that is reeling from a 2-10 season. He is the fan's favorite already, without taking a snap.
Remember the name Ousmane Kromah, he is going to be a beast for FSU this year. My God, this kid is a true freshman but putting on a show in camp. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get the rock quite a bit against Alabama on opening weekend.

But if he stays in Tallahassee long…
Even though Cook and Akers had 1,000-yard seasons as freshman they were not asked to handle a starting workload on day one. Akers was able to split carries with another blue-chip running back, Jacques Patrick, for a few weeks before taking over after the first month.
Cook didn't have a carry in the 2014 opener against Oklahoma State and didn't get a start until Week 6 against Syracuse and really didn't establish himself as the clear-cut number one guy until Week 10 against Miami, passing by two five-star running backs - Karlos Williams and Mario Pender.
Those guys were surrounded by five-star talent. Kromah IS the five-star talent right now. He is doing a great job of saying the right things and letting his actions and effort in camp speak for itself.
But Kromah is going to be the man. He knows it. We know it. And on August 30, Alabama is going to know it.
