Florida State football ends its disastrous season with a defeat at the hands of arch-rival Florida Gators by a score of 31-11. It seems to be the same story that has continued to plague this squad time and time again.

This was supposed to be a team that was filled with praise after winning the conference and accomplishing an undefeated regular season in 2023. However, that thought process went out the window after the season-opening loss to Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland.

The program is now having to lick its wounds and go back to the drawing board. Much of the fan base thinks that the solution to the problem is firing assistant coaches and acquiring talented prospects via the transfer portal and recruiting ranks.

This is a time when we turn to see players enter the transfer portal. We already mentioned that wide receiver Deuce Spann made his intentions known. However, no one else has surfaced yet.

With that being said, the coaching staff is already searching to find talented options in the transfer portal as they offered FAU running back CJ Campbell Jr.

The name might sound familiar as Campbell Jr. was a former Seminole who was on the team as a preferred walk-on before he transferred to the Owls for an expanded role. It was a win-win for him as he looked to make a difference at a smaller school for more playing time.

He accumulated 165 carries for 844 yards and 11 touchdowns while also bringing in 40 receptions for 466 receiving yards and three touchdowns during the 2023 season with the Owls.

While I don't think it could happen at this time, it could be a valuable asset and a sense of familiarity to the running back room with Campbell Jr. being potentially back in the fold. Florida State could be missing Lawrance Toafili, Caziah Holmes, and Roydell Williams in 2025.
