Florida State football did not have the 2024 season that it wanted. Many fans thought the program would have a level of consistency after accomplishing an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023.
That did not happen this past season as the Seminoles limped to a 2-10 record. Head football coach Mike Norvell knew that major changes were needed. The offensive unit was one of the worst in all of college football.
Florida State is supposed to be a place where they are built for playmakers. However, the playmakers struggled to get open and find rushing lanes.
The Seminoles welcomed former UCF head football coach Gus Malzahn as its offensive coordinator. Malzahn has been known to establish the running game at a high level, but how will the passing game translate with former Boston College quarterback transfer Thomas Castellanos or redshirt sophomore quarterback Brock Glenn?
Former Vanderbilt offensive tackle transfer Gunnar Hansen met with the media on Thursday afternoon where he stated that Florida State was going to have the best offense in college football this year.

This was a big statement for Hansen. However, with that said, what else was he supposed to say? I know that the fan base is scared to have high expectations after the debacle in 2024.
I love the mentality of the offensive lineman. I don't want him to say something about the Seminoles being just average. I know that Florida State's preseason over/under win total is at 7.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The program is used to competing for championships instead of making bowl game appearances.
I believe that the Florida State offense will be a top-50 unit in 2025 with Thomas Castellanos's running ability or Brock Glenn's pocket presence. However, I don't know if the Seminoles could get to the top 25 unless the passing numbers elevate past expectations.
Some individuals like to stretch the quotation when it is just a veteran with a ton of confidence.
