Coming off a nightmare 2024 season for Florida State, we don't have to tell you that the pressure is on for Mike Norvell to turn things around moving forward. With that said, he continues to raise eyebrows with some solid wins out on the recruiting trail.

This now includes him landing 2026 cornerback Sean Johnson, who just announced his decision on Thursday. Johnson is ranked three stars and the No. 44 cornerback in the country per the 247Sports Composite. According to Hayes Fawcett, he chose FSU over Penn State, Maryland and Wisconsin.

Touted CB prospect Sean Johnson has committed to Florida State

Johnson is scheduled to take his official visit to Tallahassee on June 13 and it's a trip he's now even more fired up about. Throughout his recruitment, the newest Seminoles pledge picked up tenders from FSU, Maryland, Penn State, Wisconsin, NC State, Oregon, Kentucky, Michigan State and more.

This also adds to the fantastic work Norvell and his assistants have been able to get done for the 2026 class. As of this writing, Florida State is up to nine known pledges - the group is also ranked No. 19 in the country per the 247Sports rankings.

Johnson is the first CB pledge for '26 too. While things didn't go to plan for the program last season, now is not the time to stop believing in what Norvell is trying to get done with this team. Things are looking bright for 2025 and adding key pieces for the future like Johnson is only going to have fans even more excited for what's to come.
