FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Florida State football enters the weekend with the 14th-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminoles' coaching staff wants to make a big impression as the big game approaches.

Florida State didn't have as many highly-touted prospects in town when they faced off against Alabama in the season opener. They looked to be putting all of their chips in for the rivalry game against Miami.

It is Florida State-Miami, and it means more in terms of dominance in the state and recruiting implications. The Seminoles are in desperation mode after their loss to Virginia on the road in double overtime by a score of 46-38.

GOT A LEGACY RECRUIT

Florida State football isn't a stranger to landing legacy prospects because the Seminoles have a group of stellar former players at the university. The Seminoles haven't had much luck during the season on the recruiting front, even with the win over Alabama.

However, it accomplished a good feat as it acquired Class of 2026 three-star tight end prospect Corbyn Fordham from the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, has flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Florida State on Friday night.

The Seminoles already have a pledge from four-star tight end prospect Xavier Tiller, but the commitment from Fordham doesn't indicate that Tiller's recruitment is shaky.

However, the move to have sophomore Amaree Williams at defensive end could be a factor in bringing two tight end prospects this cycle. Randy Pittman Jr. is a junior, and Landen Thomas is talented, but he hasn't had much of an impact during the 2025 season for the Seminoles.

Then it should be noted that the talented Chase Loftin is injured and could be out for a while. It does help that Fordham's father (Todd) was an offensive lineman on the Seminoles' 1993 national championship team. Overall, it is a nice pickup for Florida State football recruiting.
