Florida State's offense is surrounded by questions about the quarterback position in 2026. This is an interesting development with options such as Kevin Sperry, Ashton Daniels, and Malachi Marshall battling it out for the job.
This should be a Seminoles team that has almost every position up for grabs after Florida State has managed to combine for a 7-17 record in the past two years. Head football coach Mike Norvell has upset many Florida State fans with his ability to lead this program in the right direction.
However, the administration announced that it has decided to retain Coach Norvell for the 2026 season, even with his failures during his tenure. This could be because they think he can turn this around next season, or maybe the program doesn't have the financial resources to relieve him of his duties. Nonetheless, this is a time when Mike Norvell has to prove the doubters wrong.
The offensive line could be a bright spot for Florida State in 2026
Florida State was able to keep around offensive line coach Herb Hand. This was something that was a concern to Seminole fans with the possibility of offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn's retirement at the season's end.
Coach Malzahn and Hand have worked exclusively together for years, and the Seminoles were solid last year on the offensive line. This is a credit to Herb Hand because he had to acquire four new transfers to be starters on the unit.
We saw something similar with former position coach Alex Atkins, but it panned out for Hand as the Seminoles were about to block well against most teams on the schedule. This was generally expected by the fan base since Hand has been employed at several Power Four schools in the past.
A homegrown recruit in former three-star prospect Andre Otto will be counted out to play in 2026. The talented offensive lineman was brought up by new veteran transfer Nate Pabst.
Some high praise for OL Andre' Otto.

He's been credited for his energy during tour of duty and for being one of the first guys in the building.
Otto hasn't had much opportunity, but he should be in line for a spot on the O-line this season.
Fans don't necessarily know the starting offensive line for the Seminoles, but Florida State did add more transfers this offseason who could be contributors. This quote by Pabst about Otto being one of the hardest working ones of the bunch should give individuals confidence that the redshirt junior could be a starter at guard for the Seminoles in 2026.
