Florida State has started to address its needs during the transfer portal window. The Seminoles have struggled to find consistency during this difficult time of the past two seasons. However, hope is on the horizon this offseason as they add pieces to help the roster right now.
Head football coach Mike Norvell and this front office have sustainable success as their number one goal. In the meantime, the Seminoles have holes that they need to fill on the team.
Florida State made headlines on Tuesday, as they secured a commitment from Auburn quarterback transfer Ashton Daniels. This was a head-scratcher for some individuals because of his inconsistent play at Stanford and Auburn.
However, there is a portion of the fan base that wants redshirt freshman Kevin Sperry to take the reins during the offseason. The youngster has a ton of responsibilities that have the fate of the squad on his shoulders if that were the case.
The pickup of Daniels gives the coaching staff flexibility on what to do because the veteran can help the youngsters, Kevin Sperry and Jaden O'Neal, if they are ready to go, or carve his own role and be a productive starter.
Nonetheless, Florida State seems to want to add another transfer in the room since the Seminoles only have three scholarship quarterbacks with Ashton Daniels, Kevin Sperry, and Jaden O'Neal. They decided to offer JUCO signal-caller Tre Guerra.

Guerra mentioned head football coach Mike Norvell and quarterbacks coach Austin Tucker in the social media post, so that explains who is leading the charge in the recruitment. The quarterback from Tyler, Texas, is considered the third-best JUCO prospect at his position.
He threw for 2,811 yards with 24 touchdowns and 14 interceptions during this past season (according to Tyler Junior College Athletics website). The amount of turnovers is concerning, but it looks like he isn't afraid to take chances.
This looks to be a situation where the Seminoles want to add a cheaper option to provide depth at quarterback, and Guerra offers that. It also doesn't hurt that Texas Tech, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Southern Miss have offered him.
