Florida State football added a ton of transfers to its roster this offseason. The fan base often doesn't discuss returnees and focuses on the newcomers.
Individuals thought that the program needed to grab offensive and defensive trenches, which they did. However, there were a couple of positions that the Florida State faithful thought they could have avoided.
Running back was a position that was regarded in that light. They were losing veterans like Roydell Williams and Caziah Holmes, but the Seminoles have potential in the room with players such as Sam Singleton Jr. and Ousmane Kromah.
Ousmane Kromah could still be a piece in the Seminoles' rotation in 2026
Florida State had assistant coach David Johnson navigate over to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Coach Johnson had been with Mike Norvell since he was hired in 2020. The Seminoles ended up picking up Kam Martin to lead the unit.
The Florida State offense was frustrating to watch at times last season. The Seminoles had success running the football because offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn's calls for the offense to establish the running game.
The running back room played musical chairs during the 2025 season, which confused many fans. One player that individuals were excited about was true freshman Ousmane Kromah. The former four-star prospect was someone that the staff acquired away from the Georgia Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers.
The unfortunate aspect is that Kromah only had double-digit carries in two of the twelve possible games and didn't record a touchdown. The Seminoles picked up former Texas transfer Tre Wisner this offseason, who could eat into his production.
However, Florida State's social media team continues to post about Kromah, with him showing energy and enthusiasm with spring practices underway.

Kromah is pictured in the content (No. 32). Even though Wisner should get a serviceable, you cannot ignore Sam Singleton Jr's breakaway speed. With that said, there is a reason that Ousmane Kromah didn't transfer out this offseason, since almost everyone does when playing time isn't there early in their respective careers.
Head coach Mike Norvell is in charge of the play-calling duties in 2026, and it would be a shame if the most talented back on the roster didn't get the carries that he deserves in the offense.
