Florida State could be wasting its time with scheduling OV with out-of-state recruit

Florida State's coaching staff is getting involved with an out-of-state recruit.

Florida State football's recruiting has focused on getting prospects from a variety of states such as Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and others. In the end, the pursuit didn't matter as they chose other schools. Fans are numb to the pain of the Keldric Faulk debacles from a couple of years ago.

There has to be a point where the Seminoles can hang on to these homegrown recruits, instead of always resorting to the transfer portal. This will make it impossible to field a squad that has continuity on its roster.

Florida State is sitting as the 36th-best recruiting class in the 2027 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. This is laughable to some of the Seminole fan base because many of them want to see top-ten classes that they are not getting.

High school recruiting, transfer portal, and NIL have fueled the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes into what they are right now. I want the Seminoles to beat the Hurricanes soundly, but it is admirable how head coach Mario Cristobal is building his teams with building through the trenches.

Three-star defensive lineman Eric Vaulx Jr. could be in play for the Florida State Seminoles

This has not been a department that has gone well with Florida State, but hopefully that changes soon. The Seminoles have scheduled an official visit with three-star defensive lineman Eric Vaulx Jr. from Lake Cormorant, Mississippi. Defensive line coach Terrance Knighton is his main recruiter.

The problem that I have is that the home-state team, Mississippi State, has offered the talented defensive lineman. The Bulldogs will look to keep Vaulx Jr. at home.

There is not only Mississippi State to worry about, as Auburn (June 5th), Missouri (June 12), and Tennessee (June 19th) have also scheduled official visits with him. The Seminoles got an unofficial visit from Vaulx Jr. in early April.

Vaulx Jr. barely missed the mark of being a four-star prospect, so I wouldn't let the ranking sway the thought of the defensive lineman not being any good. The Mississippi native recorded 75 tackles (18 for loss), six sacks, and one forced fumble last season (according to MaxPreps).

The Seminoles couldn't afford to get embarrassed by another prospect in the 2027 cycle, and they have to find a way to generate momentum by getting talented recruits in the fold.
