Jameis Winston will go down as one of the best quarterbacks to play at Florida State in program history, helping bring a National Championship to the school. Winston has gone on to play in the NFL with multiple teams, but at this point, he is best known for his moments on the mic and winning big games at opportune times.
Winston now has a younger brother who is working through his recruiting cycle and trying to decide where he will play football at the next level. Jonah Winston isn't a quarterback like his older brother, but is a wide receiver and is receiving interest from many schools, including Florida State.
Jonah has said that his favorite schools are UCF, Ole Miss, Auburn, and, of course, Florida State, his older brother's former school. He has received offers from those schools as well as Alabama, Colorado, Marshall, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and Troy.
Winston is currently a three-star wider receiver, according to 247Sports, and is the No. 43 wide receiver in the Class of 2026 and the No. 13 player in the state of Alabama. Winston took a trip to Tallahassee in October during the 2024 season and plans to have visits to both Auburn and Florida State in the upcoming months.
The younger Winston brother started out in the same position as the former Heisman Trophy winner but made the move to wide receiver last season and has created a lot more buzz through his recruiting since making the switch. In 2024, Winston led his team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns with 38 catches for 542 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran the ball well, with 21 touches for 152 yards and five touchdowns.
With Winston talking about visits to Florida State and Auburn in the upcoming months, it seems to be a battle between the Tigers and the Seminoles for the younger brother of a former National Champion.
