We have heard this story before: Florida State gets hot on the recruiting trail, and Mike Norvell gains momentum before the season starts.
This is a trend that Seminole fans have gotten used to before it crumbles to a million pieces. Florida State has had four losing seasons in six years under Coach Norvell. This is not encouraging for recruits who just want to see a winning product.
It also doesn't help that arch-rival Miami made the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, and then Florida hired head coach Jon Sumrall for that "new car smell". Florida State's program is on the back burner of the college football public.
Florida State has to grab four-star defensive end target Jabarrius Garror
Florida State's 2027 recruiting class has not made much progress, with only five commitments. The Seminoles' coaching staff hopes to bring several talented prospects to campus this summer.
One of the more pivotal recruits is four-star defensive end Jabarrius Garror from Vigor High School in Mobile, Alabama. Garror was previously committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Florida State fans understand the dangers of recruiting prospects in the state of Alabama (*cough* Keldric Faulk *cough*).
4-star EDGE JaBarrious Garror recently backed off his Alabama commitment, so what's next?

He's already scheduled three official visits and multiple spring visits as ACC, SEC and Big 12 programs make their pitch.

However, the talented pass rusher has been interested in Florida State for quite some time. There was even a thought that the Seminoles would land him last summer before he remained committed to Alabama. There are several programs going after him, such as Auburn, Texas A&M, and Texas.
The Seminoles have seen the benefits of having assistant coach Nick Williams on staff. The program is already involved with four-star Sam LeJeune and has four-star Anthony Cavallaro in the fold. Garror is a special prospect who recorded 106 tackles (32.5 for loss) and 21 sacks during his senior season (according to MaxPreps).
That could change the narrative that Mike Norvell cannot recruit the trenches and that he can grab recruits from the state of Alabama.
