Florida State football mutually agreed to cancel its home-and-home series with the Georgia Bulldogs for 2027 and 2028. They better be lucky that they don't have to play the Seminoles because the Bulldogs don't have Mark Richt to save them now (it's a joke).
In all seriousness, this update has caused the Seminole faithful to be upset with how the game of college football has transpired. It has turned into a sport that has become greedy for money. It takes games away from Doak Campbell Stadium and Stanford Stadium.
The atmosphere is one of the many reasons why college football is great. It is disappointing that the fans won't have a chance to have the two teams in Athens and Tallahassee, respectively. Plus, this hurts local businesses that thrive off the traffic.
Florida State needs to play Georgia in the state of Florida (or New Orleans)
Even though many fans didn't think that Florida State would have beaten Alabama in last year's game, it became a massive success for the Seminoles as they defeated them by a score of 31-17. We previously shared a report from the Florida State site "TomahawkNation" where they mentioned that the Seminoles could be playing the Bulldogs in Tampa for 2028.
This wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if it weren't played in Tallahassee, but On3's Brett McMurphy reported on Monday afternoon that Florida State and Georgia will play a neutral-site game in 2028 between seven cities: Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando, and Tampa.
Florida State & Georgia will play a neutral site game in 2028, FSU AD Mike Alford said. 7 cities - Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando & Tampa - are in the running to host the game

The hope is that Georgia doesn't get a glorified home game in Atlanta, even though there is a big Seminole Booster club in that city. Florida State has struggled on the field over the past two seasons, and who knows what the squad will look like in two years.
The Florida State and Georgia game will be played in 2028, but the question still remains where it will be. Personally, I like the ideas of New Orleans (more LSU game magic from the game-winning blocked extra point), Orlando (2016 Ole Miss and 2023 LSU games), and Tampa (in Florida and has a huge Seminole fan base in the area).
Hopefully, Florida State Athletic Director Michael Alford makes the right decision here.
