Familiar high school to FSU fans could produce joy with a commitment this weekend

Mentioning this high school might cause PTSD with some FSU fans now. This could help ease that pain some.

FSU football fans who follow recruiting closely know all about Collins Hill High School in Georgia. It's the high school that produced former FSU commit Travis Hunter, who spurned the Noles a few years ago to flip to Jackson State.

I thought that moment was supposed to create a pipeline of players choosing to go the HBCU route (sarcasm). Anyways, we all know that was a money grab, but it's water under the bridge now. Collins Hill has a three-star defensive end named Katrell Webb, who has become a major target for FSU defensive line coach Terrance Knighton.

FSU doesn't have a single pass rusher in its 2026 class, but Webb was supposed to announce his commitment last weekend and decided to push it back.

He'll be choosing between FSU, Indiana, and Purdue. I'm not sure FSU was the team he would have chosen last week, but I think FSU should land this young man.

He's a guy that's physically developed and plays with a chip on his shoulder. He also has a quick first step and would be a major need filled in the 2026 recruiting class. I'm not sure anything could take that memory of what Travis Hunter did away, but at least it would be a quality player from that school sharing some good news favoring the Noles.

If FSU doesn't land him, losing a recruiting battle to Indiana or Purdue wouldn't be a great look. FSU doesn't have many options left at the position. If a confirmed time for the commitment is announced, I'll update this article. Here's to hoping the Noles add one for the good guys!
