WE HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE IN THE PAST
Florida State football is back at fall camp as we are now twenty-six days until the Seminoles' season opener versus the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
The excitement is here as the fan base wants to be hopeful of the 2025 squad. However, last season looms heavily over individuals with the rough 2-10 finish. However, a new year includes a chance to wipe the slate clean with new, refined energy.
Head football coach Mike Norvell was at the podium speaking to the media on Monday afternoon, where he alluded to the offense having one of the best days that it has had since the beginning of spring. That is a huge deal.
IMPROVEMENT ON THE OFFENSIVE LINE?
Norvell didn't seem to stop there as he also spoke on the Seminoles' offensive line gelling together. The unit was one of the worst in all of college football last season. There were individuals who thought the offensive line would be something that would make the rushing attack turn into another level.
The Seminoles finished with 15.2 points per game and are looking to rebound after the disappointment of last year. They went out and added six new transfers to the unit (four of them are potential starters). One of the transfers to mention is former Wake Forest center Luke Petitbon.
Petitbon was a bright spot this spring because he was the most consistent with staying healthy. The position group dealt with a variety of injuries in the spring, so it is great to see them out there competing at a high level and building chemistry with one another.
I know that fans want to be negative after last season, but a combination of Gunnar Hansen, Adrian Medley, Luke Petitbon, Richie Leonard IV, and Micah Pettus is a solid starting five to build with (if they stay healthy).
