FSU VS STANFORD
Florida State football will be taking on the Stanford Cardinal tonight in an unusual 10:30 PM EST kickoff on ESPN. The Seminoles are trying to get back in the win column after losing three straight to Virginia, Miami, and Pittsburgh.
The fan base wants to see the losses come to an end. This is a proud football program that had enough losing in 2024 with the 2-10 record. Individuals are starting to get impatient with head football coach Mike Norvell and his job security.
While this isn't an opportunity for me to share optimism for the Seminoles going 9-3 to end the regular season, this should announce that Florida State needs to go 1-0 each win and be more consistent on offense and defense.
INJURIES STINK
Florida State has been dealing with a ton of injuries, especially in its contest versus Pittsburgh. This is a football team that is patiently waiting for the bye week to hit the schedule to get healthy.
The Seminoles had to deal with wide receivers Squirrel White and Jayvan Boggs as well as tight end Randy Pittman Jr., being out for the game. Then, wide receiver Duce Robinson was hurt in-game on a particular play.
This isn't ideal for an offense that wants to go fast. Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn made the injured unit work, finishing with 31 points against the Pittsburgh Panthers. However, it does help when the complement of weapons is out there.
The good news is that ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that the Seminoles are expected to have wide receiver Duce Robinson (he isn't a tight end), wide receiver Jayvan Boggs, right tackle Micah Pettus, and running back Roydell Williams in tonight's contest against Stanford.

There was no mention of wide receiver Squirrel White or tight end Randy Pittman Jr. in the report, but it would be nice if they were to return against the Cardinal. As it stands, this is a game that Florida State should win comfortably without them, and they could use the bye week next week to heal up properly.
