Encouraging injury update for talented sophomore tight end Landen Thomas

This is a good sign for tight end Landen Thomas.

LAST SEASON'S DISASTER

Florida State football had a disastrous 2024 campaign as it limped to the finish line with a 2-10 record. The Seminoles likely knew that the season wouldn't go as planned when the season-opening loss to Georgia Tech happened.

There were not many positive developments on offense from last year. The Seminoles ranked as one of the worst offensive units in all of college football. I guess if you had to highlight some players, it would be a short list of Lawrance Toafili, Landen Thomas, and Amaree Williams.

LANDEN THOMAS IS BACK

The one player that I want to highlight in this article is sophomore tight end Landen Thomas. The Clemson Tigers probably shield their eyes when they see Thomas on the field since he recorded seven receptions for 80 yards against them in early October.

While I am not suggesting that the Georgia native is in the conversation for the best tight end in college football, he is an effective weapon that Florida State could use.

Head football coach Mike Norvell mentioned on Saturday that Thomas made his first action in fall camp and made some spectacular plays. This is a breath of fresh air. The Seminole fan base is always used to receiving bad news.

The tight end has missed all of fall camp so far. These are valuable reps that he will need. I understand that the veteran Randy Pittman Jr. will be a starter, given his experience in Gus Malzahn's offense, but pieces like Landen Thomas, Markeston Douglas, Amaree Williams, and Chase Loftin are competing for reps.
