FINISHING WITH A BANG
Florida State's coaching staff finished the 2025 recruiting class with a bang. Many of the fan base were surprised that the Seminoles did not have as many prospects who decided to part ways with the program after the 2-10 record.
WYNN IS A TALENTED PIECE
However, one of the highlights from the 2025 class was former four-star defensive tackle Kevin Wynn from Greensboro, Georgia. I thought that either South Carolina and Georgia would have gotten him to flip his services from the Seminoles.
He stayed committed to Florida State even with the difficult circumstances. The Seminoles got themselves a certified difference maker. Wynn had 68 tackles (27 for loss) and seven sacks during his senior season.
To make matters even better, the defensive tackle early enrolled at Florida State to get himself acclimated to the collegiate game and have a chance to compete for the rotation. When you flip on the film for Wynn, you might think that you are watching the WWE with the aggression that he plays with (you may or may not see him body slam someone...).
WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER OPTIONS?
Much of the conversation at the position has been veteran Darrell Jackson returning for his senior season in Tallahassee, but the other starting spot is up for grabs as the productive Joshua Farmer is now in the NFL.
Defensive line coach Terrance Knighton has pieces such as KJ Sampson and Daniel Lyons that should contribute, but it doesn't mean that Wynn doesn't have a chance to start. I get that he is a true freshman, but talent should always overtake seniority if it is a clear upgrade.
The first portion of fall camp will be pivotal for the Georgia native as he looks to be an impact player on Tony White's defensive scheme, which calls for his defenders to be physical.
