FSU FOOTBALL

Florida State football had a bye week this past week, as the Seminoles lost to Stanford by a score of 20-13 previously. It has not been pretty, as the program has now lost four in a row. That is not the standard of this proud Florida State team.

The fan base has been patient, as they had to suffer through a 2-10 season last year. Then, Florida State beats Alabama in the season opener, so the expectations get lifted. The Seminoles have responded to starting the season 3-0 with a four-game losing streak.

This is not an opportunity for me to put up the pitchforks for head football coach Mike Norvell and his job security. However, his 36-31 record through six seasons at Florida State is certainly not ideal. However, this is a new week to improve for Florida State and try to get in the win column.

FSU VS WAKE

It doesn't get any easier for Florida State football, as they take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 PM EST on the ACC Network. Wake Forest is coming off a massive win at home against SMU by a score of 13-12. This game came down to the buzzer, as they sunk the game-winning 50-yard field goal attempt.

FanDuel Sportsbook seems to think that the contest was a fluke, as they have Florida State opening up as 8.5-point home favorites to the Demon Deacons. It is surprising to see that number over a touchdown in favor of the Seminoles, especially after seeing how they performed against the Cardinal.

Florida State is 1-11 in its last 12 ACC games, so this doesn't give much confidence that they can get it done. It was impressive to see Wake Forest snap SMU's 20-game ACC regular season winning streak.

The only reason that I could see Vegas confident in Florida State is because this squad will be playing for Mike Norvell's job and Wake Forest only had 301 total yards against the Mustangs with five turnovers on offense. SMU beating themselves with only converting four of their 17 third downs.

Hopefully, FanDuel Sportsbook is right about the Seminoles and fans enjoy a victory this Saturday!
